SmarTouch STS

|
The SmarTouch STS is a total, integrated solution for wireless remote control of virtually any electronic equipment or subsystem.
The SmarTouch STS is designed for boardrooms and conference centers; home theater control and complete home automation. Installation is minimal - no wiring is required. Simple-to-use software lets you "touch and go!"
The secret? The system's LCD touchpanel communicates via radio frequency (RF) signals to the system's Control Processor (CP) - even through walls. The electronic equipment you wish to control interfaces with the CP, completing your command instantaneously.
The Crestron SmarTouch STS system is the most user friendly
control system on the market today. The basic SmarTouch STS system (control
processor and touchpanel) will accommodate many installations. If you want something more
customized or need to include additional devices, our line of expansion modules is just
what you need.
Only the SmarTouch STS Wireless RF Control System lets you customize and expand this
easily...
Each expansion module connects to your SmarTouch system through an easy-to-install network connection. A virtually infinite number of modules can be connected to accommodate all of your system needs and may be added in any number or configuration to your SmarTouch system. Housed in a metal enclosure (just like the control processor), modules can be rack-mounted with our optional kit.
ST-CS (Current Sensor Module)ST-CS provides power sensing to two individual 110/220-volt devices with a total power capacity of 20 amps. ST-CS gives discrete power on/off control for IR devices such as VCRs, DVD players and video projectors. The ST-CS guarantees that your IR controlled device is on when you want it on!
ST-COM (RS-232/422 Com Module)
ST-COM provides two independent bidirectional serial ports that support RS-232 /422-based communication. Need to communicate via RS-422? Need more RS-232 ports? ST-Com is the answer. Add additional video projectors, a/v switchers or other devices...the sky's the limit.
ST-VC (Volume/Tone Control Module)
ST-VC is a digitally controlled 3-channel audio attenuator. Each channel has independent settings for volume, treble, bass and mute. ST-VC is ideally suited to provide full audio control for systems without an IR- controlled integrated receiver. Choose your mixer, preamp and amplifier, then add an ST-VC module to complete the system. In some applications ST-VC's separate control of treble and bass may even eliminate the need for a graphic equalizer.
ST-IO (Input/Output Module)
ST-IO provides eight relay outputs and four digital voltage/closure inputs. The eight relays take care of control to low voltage, contact closure devices such as lights, screens, drapes and a/v switchers. The four digital inputs take a contact closure signal and turn it into a command. An inexpensive motion detector connected to one of the digital inputs can turn on the lights when someone enters the room. For energy and equipment conservation, use that same motion detector in your home theatre or boardroom to sense NO motion for a period of time, then send a command to shut off the equipment. The ST-IO is a good way to get creative with your control system!
ST-LT (Lutron Interface Module)
ST-LT provides a direct interface to Lutron's GRAFIK EYE or
Homeworks system. An additional RS-232 port is also included for interfacing to a PC running Lutron control software. No additional interfaces are needed. ST-LT plugs directly into Lutron Mux Link, making the Lutron connection a snap!Expansion Module Common Specs:
Power: 110 or 220-volt external power supply (specify 220 volt when ordering)
Enclosure: Black metal
Size: 1 rack high and 1/2 rack wide
Rack Mountable: Yes, with optional kit
- ST-SPL IR splitter
Take any or all four of the SmarTouch IR ports and expand each port into 5 IR outputs. Use with the ST-IRPs listed below. IR splitters make expansion easy!
- ST-MB (Master Blaster/IR sprayer)
Takes the IR device commands and "sprays" them around the room without physical connections.
- ST-PC (power control)
Dual switchable AC power controller
- ST-BP (power pack)
Rechargable NiCad
- ST-BC (Power pack recharger)
Includes two ST-BP rechargable NiCad power packs.
- ST-CNB (Network expansion block)
Allows you to split or expand a network port.
- ST-IRP (IR probe)
Attaches to the device and sends the IR code to the control processor.
- ST-PK (Programming kit)
Cables, connectors and SmarTouch Wizard/SmarTouch Pro software.
- ST-RMK (Rack mount kit)
One rack high and one rack wide (19ý); mounts one or two expansion modules.

SmarTouch Wizard, Crestron Windows¨ control software for the SmarTouch system, will change the way you think about setting up a control system. No more costly planning and programming are necessary; just follow the nine easy steps and you've got a fully functioning system. If you want something more custom, the sky's the limit...it's your choice.
Too good to be true? Let's walk through the nine steps and see just how easy it is.
Step 1
Click "Next" on the opening screen and you're on your way.
Step 2
Name the system and choose a directory for the files.
Step 3
Add the devices. Pick the device type (VCR, projector etc.), the manufacturer and the model. Then give the device a name and indicate if you're using the current sensor module. Click the "Add" button and that's it.
Step 4
Select user interface(s) - otherwise known as the touchpanel. Name the interface. Next, type in a few words of opening text for the panel. Then - here's the exciting part - choose a template. Crestron provides basic templates (plus you can create your own to suit your specific needs; either way, this is what creates the touchpanel screens, automatically). Click the "Add" button.
Step 5
Now you're ready to generate the system. Click the "Generate System" button and sit back while the SmarTouch Wizard does its magic. Once you see the "System Generated Successfully" message, you're ready for the next step.
Step 6
Review your system report. SmarTouch Wizard gives you a summary of all devices used and even tells you where each device should be connected. View the report on screen or print it out and take it with you to hook up the equipment.
Steps 7 and 8
Upload the program to the control processor and then to the touchpanel(s) and you're almost finished!
Step 9
Congratulations! You're finished with the basic system. If you want to customize the touchpanel, you would do that before downloading the software. Otherwise, you have a functioning system...in a matter of minutes!
There you have it - the nine easy steps to setting up a SmarTouch control system. Keep in mind that all of the templates for touchpanels can be easily modified and saved as new templates. You may install our templates right out of the box or use them as a starting point for something more custom. If you're a more advanced user or have your own libraries, SmarTouch Wizard Pro can take you right into customization; the choice is yours.
